Megagrote beschilderde fashionistische fotodoeken in Den Dolder

Artist Statement:

I’m working as a fashion photographer for over 17 years and now I’m feeling my freedom as a result of where my passion can grow'. Just where the silence is that’s the place the creative noise can go out of my mind. Silence is the most passion way to desire. But I search always where the noise is, there is my inspiration. When I am home I want to get out, when I am out I want to go home. It’s a battle I will never win. I like to change the reality, mostly during the shoot but also after, with the computer and sometimes after its printed on canvas. I prefer canvas but on request its also possible to print on photo paper, glass or other material. My passion for fashion and beauty is clearly to see. But also I like to cover because its interesting that there is space for fantasy. My message in my work is: feel free, independency, express your self, enjoy live and don’t forget to love and passionate. Sometimes I make self portraits and try to show that feeling in a reality shoot.

Feel free to mail me questions in a interview, I will answer all of them.
Jacqueline Rosenberg Rosas de la Montaña.

Questionnaire by The Agora Gallery New York City

What is your birthplace/nationality?

I was born in Nieuwerkerk Aan Den IJssel, a little village near Rotterdam in the Netherlands and I have Dutch nationality. At the age of one I moved with my family to Utrecht, so I have no memories of myself living in this big industrial city that was my birthplace. Even tough Utrecht is a cosy university town I was lost in it several times. I escaped from the house already when I was three years old to explore life outside on my four wheel bike. It was nice!

What is your birth date?

I was born in 1966 on April 26th.

What are your most profound memories of growing up?

I loved to be growing up. I was very curious to do all the things that growing ups did. I fell in love already at a very young age and I always knew what kind of profession I wanted to pursue out. I also learned that men can be best friends without sex. I adore and still collect them.

What family stories/personal experiences affected you most profoundly?

I had to learn very early that love is not always forever, unfortunately starting in my own family. My father left us when I was 14 years old. We found each other back but never spoke about what had happened. We did that a few years ago in Spain where he lives.

How has your culture of origin influenced your artwork? ------------------------------------------Photo: Selfportrait Jacqueline Rosenberg.

I grew up in a quite rich household. Maybe that’s why I appreciate quality, design, fashion, beauty and art. But I knew early in my childhood that this bonus,
you have to win it by yourself and not by dependence.

Have there been any dramatic events in your life that have changed/shaped your art?

In the divorce of my parents I saw how important it is, especially for a mother, to be independent. My art of works shows a lot of women, strong emancipated and sexy. Showing sensuality is maybe not a feministic look but when is exposed by women out of their own will then it is a powerful mean to express emancipation, as opposed to the classical feminist that somehow denies femininity. There are also works of art that shows not an independent image but the opposite. It’s to activate our mind about the subject.

What was the hardest point in your artistic journey?

It’s a lonely way of living. You need your memories and feeling inside to make art at the outside. At that point it was important to clear my studio from employees.

What was the most gratifying experience for you as an artist?

When I was studying Picasso during my artistic carrier, I got a warm feeling as if he was in me. From that moment I can see him in my works of art.

What would you like your art to accomplish?

When people like to use my work for their normal live, printed on clothes, in a lightshow of a club and so on. It’s a pity when your work is not very exclusive anymore but the real achievement for me is when everybody recognises the message behind my art: Accept people of all kinds, be independent, feel free, express your self, enjoy life and don’t forget to love and be passionate.

What do you believe makes your art stand out in the art world?

It’s a quite different kind of art, exciting and for the new generation of people. They will need a message passed to them using a strong and interesting visual language.

THE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION OF JACQUELINE ROSENBERG

'The beauty of people in photography goes beyond the reality,' Jacqueline Rosenberg states, 'but that's why we love it.' Rosenberg’s two decades as a fashion photographer served as a sort of vocational training for her artistic career; and her trade has now been fully converted into passion. She takes as her subject matter women of varying types—but all strong, all emancipated in their femininity. Before transferring her photos onto canvas, Rosenberg superimposes upon them images of beads, jewels, geometric figures, out-of-proportion body parts from other photos—a practice that results in framing the internal discourse of each piece, allotting a viewing experience that is more than the sum of its parts.

Her approach reminds one of Picasso and how his distortions were always meant to convey information, to guide the encounter. If there’s a message Rosenberg hopes to convey, it’s that we should accept people of all kinds, and that we ourselves should be* *independent and free in our self-expression, our passions, and our joys.

Persbericht ANP

JACQUELINE ROSENBERG HOT IN NEW YORK
